Follow along as the grid heads to Silverstone for the F1 British Grand Prix
Lando Norris delivered an emphatic performance at last week’s Austrian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver topped the timing sheets in each session where he was a participant, starting in FP2 all the way through the race itself.
His dynamic performance pulled him to within 15 points of teammate Oscar Piastri in the Drivers’ Championship race, the latest twist in a dramatic title fight that may very well come down to a pair of Papaya-clad teammates in the end.
Now Norris gets to head home to this weekend’s British Grand Prix, where he will have a crowd of adoring fans and a new grandstand — the aptly named “Landostand” — waiting for him. If you thought the roar from the crowd was loud when Norris briefly took the lead at Silverstone in 2023, just imagine the reception he would receive with a win at home.
Still, he’ll be in for quite the fight this week at the British Grand Prix. Norris is not the only driver set to race at home, as both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton would love a home victory. And of course, both Max Verstappen and Piastri will be lurking, along with Charles Leclerc and the rest of the F1 field.
We’ll be covering the entire British Grand Prix all week long, so check back here for full coverage from SB Nation.
