These are the top high school quarterbacks who stood out with strong performances this past week.
Another week, another group of strong performances from the top high school quarterbacks in the country.
With the season starting to unfold, a number of quarterbacks have begun to separate themselves with strong junior or senior seasons, cementing their status as some of the top signal-callers in the country.
Of the group, a number of five-stars continued their ascension, while some under-the-radar names performed at a high level as well.
Let’s break down some of the top quarterback performances of the week, looking at both the 2025 and 2026 classes.
2025
Five-star Bryce Underwood (MI)
The top high school quarterback in the country, five-star Bryce Underwood had yet another impressive performance to start off his senior year.
Just one week after breaking the Michigan High School record for both career touchdown passes and total touchdowns, Underwood put together another four-score performance, tossing for three touchdowns, while rushing for another in a 49-22 win for Belleville over Dearborn.

Underwood has been known as an impressive passer, which is why he’s the No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2025. However, his dual-threat ability has been put on display this year and that continued this past Friday for Belleville.
Underwood has led his team to a 4-0 start to the year, tossing for 803 yards and 14 touchdowns, while rushing for 263 yards and four scores as well in a strong start to the year.
If he can continue his high level of play, the sky is the limit for Belleville, who will look to return to the State Championship game this year with hopes of a different result.
Five-star Keelon Russell (TX)
It feels like we’re talking every week about Duncanville’s five-star quarterback Keelon Russell, but the talented Alabama commit continues to stack performances week-by-week.
Russell had his best game of the year in a 41-17 win over Waxahachie, passing for 351 yards and six touchdowns, while completing 18 of 23 of his throws on the day. He also added 39 yards on the ground on just two carries.
It was the Dakorien Moore show on Friday, as the five-star wideout hauled in seven passes for 135 yards and three touchdowns from Russell.

Thus far, the Alabama commit has already accounted for 15 touchdowns on the year, while completing over 70 percent of his throws and passing for 963 yards.
Duncanville will continue to be tested as one of the top teams in the country this year, but Russell and Co. have started strong and that continued this past weekend with a blowout victory at home.
Five-star Husan Longstreet (CA)
After an injury cost five-star Husan Longstreet and Centennial High School their season opener, it’s been a much different story for the Texas A&M commit over the past few weeks.
Longstreet, one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation, continued his strong senior year this past Friday, tossing for 253 yards and four touchdowns in a 63-39 victory over Liberty. The quarterback also rushed for 116 yards on just 11 carries.
Now, it wasn’t all bells and whistles, as Longstreet completed just 17 of 30 passes, while having one pass intercepted for the third time this season, but it was back-to-back performances with at least four scores for the five-star quarterback this past weekend.

It’s clear that Centennial’s success this season will be tied to their star quarterback and Longstreet has done his part, helping his team win three straight to improve to 3-1 on the year, with all three victories coming by at least 14 points.
Accuracy concerns and turnovers will be areas to watch going forward, but it’s been a solid start to the year for the five-star quarterback this year.
Four-star QB Bryce Baker (N.C.)
With some long-term injuries, as well as some inconsistencies from some of the top-ranked signal-callers this week, the spotlight turned to four-star quarterback Bryce Baker, who had arguably the best performance of any quarterback this week.
Baker, a UNC commit, tossed for 213 yards and four touchdowns in East Forsyth’s 69-21 blowout over Reagan High School, while completing a whopping 17 of 18 passes.
The four-star quarterback has been on a tear to start the year, throwing for 1,288 yards, 14 touchdowns and just one interception thus far, while completing 79 percent of his passes.
Moreover, Baker has added three scores on the ground, while East Forsyth has pulled off victories of at least 35 points in each of their first four games.
Baker had a strong 2023 season, throwing for 3,082 yards, 39 touchdowns and just three interceptions, while completing 66.6 percent of his passes. He’s added to his resume with a strong start to the 2024 season, and has a big opportunity for growth up the national rankings.
2026
Five-star Ryder Lyons (CA)
The top-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2026 according to Rivals, five-star California signal-caller Ryder Lyons had a weekend to remember, totaling five touchdowns in a 51-14 win over Rocklin.
Lyons threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns on the day, but it was his work on the ground that was especially impressive, as the quarterback ran for 115 yards and three touchdowns, marking his fourth straight game with a rushing score to start the year.

Lyons, a multi-year starter for Folsom High School, has already rushed for 289 yards and six touchdowns through four games this year, while passing for 788 yards, eight touchdowns, and an interception thus far.
Folsom did have a 22-21 loss to Junipero Serra back in Week 2, but has three victories of at least 37 points to start the year. Lyons will look to continue growing in his junior season, while leading his school to another successful season in 2024.
Five-star Dia Bell (FL)
Leading one of the top programs in the country with American Heritage, five-star quarterback Dia Bell had a strong week, despite his school losing in a close 35-32 bout to Central High School on Friday.
Bell tossed for 280 yards and three touchdowns, while completing 17 of 21 passes, and also rushed for 50 yards and a score in the loss, but it wasn’t enough to pull off the victory in Week 5, dropping American Heritage’s record to 2-3.

After struggling with three interceptions and a fumble a week ago, it was a clean performance in the turnover department for the five-star 2026 quarterback, which is a good sign going forward.
The 2026 class still has a lot of fluidity when it comes to the quarterback rankings, but Bell has thrown for 16 touchdowns already this year, while rushing for two more. He and American Heritage will get a chance to bounce back next week against Plantation, who has started the year 4-0.
