Baartman ruled out of final ODI against Pakistan

South Africa fast-bowler Ottneil Baartman is ruled out of the third ODI to be held at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday (December 22). Baartman, who played in the first ODI against Pakistan and picked up two wickets, suffered an injury to his right knee. The 31-year old had felt some discomfort in his run-up while warming up for the second game and did not feature in the playing XI. He has been replaced by all-rounder Corbin Bosch.

The fast bowler will now return home and undergo further assessments. This comes a day after left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj was also ruled out of the ODI series due to a left abductor strain. Baartman's next assignment will see him feature in the SAT20 for two-time champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Pakistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series after a comprehensive win in Cape Town on Thursday which after they had beaten the hosts in Paarl two days prior to that.
