Ben Mayes scored a 117-ball 191 as England registered a crushing 252-run win over Scotland. Mayes slammed 18 boundaries and eight sixes as England posted 404 for 6 before bundling out Scotland for 152. The total of 404 is the highest for them in Under-19 ODIs.

Put in to bat, England lost Ben Dawkins early, but a 188-run stand between Joseph Moores and Mayes set the foundation of their innings. Thomas Rew, Caleb Falconer made useful contributions before Sebastian Morgen scored a brisk 11-ball 24 as England looked to surge ahead in the death overs, and help the side post in excess of 400.

Scotland openers, Theo Robinson and Thomas Knight, made a steady start with a 38-run stand. However, Robinson's dismissal led to a collapse. English bowlers kept striking at regular intervals and had Scotland reduced to 87 for 7 by the 27th over. In the company of Finlay Carter, the lower order put in a bit of a resistance, but they were never threatening to chase down England's total. Falconer was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.

Brief Scores: England 404/6 in 50 overs (Ben Mayes 191, Joseph Moores 81; Jake Woodhouse 3-88) beat Scotland 152 in 44.5 overs (Finlay Carter 34; Caleb Falconer 3-19, Manny Lumsden 2-17) by 252 runs

Nooristani Omarzai's five-fer paved the way for Afghanistan's convincing nine-wicket win over Tanzania. Put in to bat, Tanzania were bundled out for 85, a total chased down by Afghanistan in only 12.4 overs.

Only three of Tanzania batters managed to go past the two-figure mark as Afghanistan bowlers kept striking at regular intervals. Barring a 35-run stand between Augustino Meya Mwamele and Laksh Bakrania, there wasn't any significant alliance. Once the duo departed, Omarzai ripped through the lower order, bundling them out in 36 overs.

In response, Afghanistan broke little sweat in the chase. After Khalid Ahmadzai departed in the fifth over, Faisal Shinozada blazed away to an unbeaten 34-ball 55, an innings which included nine boundaries and a six as Afghanistan overhauled the total within 13 overs.

Brief Scores: Tanzania 85 in 36 overs (Augustino Meya 14; Nooristani Omarzai 5-9) lost to Afghanistan 88/1 in 12.4 overs (Faisal Shinozada 55*) by 9 wickets
